How Do I Sync Only Specific Contacts

1. Some people have a lot of contacts and their phone can't hold them all.
2. It might be cheaper to sync a smaller number of contacts.
3. Your phone might have a cumbersome interface so you only want your most used contacts in your phone.

[edit] Using Categories

1. Use the Web 2.0 contacts application to set your categories. Consider assigning the sync category to all of the contacts you want to sync to your phone.
2. On the HTML preferences page click 'Edit Settings' for your phone and then view the Miscellaneous tab.
3. For the option Only Sync Items With Categories: type sync and click Save. This value is case sensitive.

Using sync was just an example. You can put more than one category here by using a comma separator like this: sync,work,family

Note: Syncing specific items to a device works the same way for contacts, events, and tasks/todos.
