Google Calendar is a great calendar client. ScheduleWorld gives you the ability to keep your devices and software in sync with Google Calendar easily and automatically.

[edit] Installation

1. The first thing to do is sign up for a ScheduleWorld account!
2. Information you'll need:
   1. The email address you use to log into Google Calendar.
   2. A ScheduleWorld calendar and a Google calendar you wish to keep in sync. Note: A single ScheduleWorld calendar can synchronize with a single Google calendar.
3. Follow the steps in the Configuration section below.
4. Enjoy!

1. Log in to ScheduleWorld (home page).
2. Click the preferences icon (bottom right).
3. Click the calendar you want to sync with Google and choose the Google tab.
4. Enter the email address you use to log into Google Calendar.
5. Click 'Find Calendars'.
6. Select which Google calendar you want to sync with the specific calendar you are editing.
7. Click 'Save'.

[edit] Google TimeZone Configuration

You need to make sure Google Calendar is configured with the timezone you want. This is done in two places within Google Calendar.

1. Calendar Settings. Click the tiny arrow by your calendar name and select 'Calendar settings'.
2. Settings. Click the 'Settings' link at the top right of the page.

There are a number of ways you can trigger ScheduleWorld to sync with Google.

[edit] Manual

In the ScheduleWorld day view, there is a link at the top of the page called 'Google Sync'. Clicking this will trigger ScheduleWorld to sync with Google (calendar).

[edit] Automatic

In the configuration stage there was an option to enable autoSync. If you do this, each time you sync ScheduleWorld via SyncML (sync your cell phone, Outlook, Evolution, etc.) ScheduleWorld will also sync with Google calendar. This means you don't even have to log in to ScheduleWorld to keep your cell phone in sync with Google.

When you install the ScheduleWorld syncSW.xpi add-on you will be able to trigger a ScheduleWorld <-> Google calendar sync from the menu Tools - SyncSW - Sync SW <-> Google Calendar.

[edit] Slow Sync

Sometimes ScheduleWorld will think it's in sync with Google Calendar when in reality it is not. One sign is that Google or ScheduleWorld are not receiving events when you think they should. The solution is to tell ScheduleWorld to do a slow sync. This will merge the ScheduleWorld and Google calendar and future syncs should work as you expect. To do this:

1. On the ScheduleWorld preferences page scroll down to the ScheduleWorld calendar you want to do a slow sync with Google.
2. Enable the 'Slow' sync mode. Look for the text Google Sync Mode: examine every item from both calendars _O_ Slow .
3. Click 'Save'.
4. Go to the day view and click 'Google Sync'.
5. Note that this setting automatically resets back to a normal sync after one use.

This rarely happens and when it does the cause isn't 100% understood. The following possible causes and their solutions have worked for some people:

1. Cause: Google wants to make sure you are human. Solution: log in manually to calendar.google.com and pass the captcha test.
2. Cause: you may have an expired token. Solution: use the ScheduleWorld web application to set up your Google Calendar settings again.
3. Cause: unknown. Solution: wait a few hours / days and it will clear itself up.
