How Do I Share Calendars

From Sw

Jump to: navigation, search

Calendar sharing enables you to grant other people to access your calendars. You can let others just view your calendars, or you can let them edit (write) and even sync your calendars.

[edit] The First Step

The first step is always to sign up for a ScheduleWorld account!

[edit] Enable Sharing

You can currently share calendars by clicking the 'Sharing' button found in each calendar section on your preferences page. Image:IcalShare1.png

[edit] Grant Permissions

Type the email of the ScheduleWorld user you want to share with, select a permission, and click 'Grant Permission'.

[edit] Read-Only Permission

When you grant someone read-only privileges to your calendar that person can only view your calendar. They can not sync your calendar or make changes of any kind.

[edit] Read/Write Permission

When you grant someone read/write privileges that person can create, edit, and delete items on your calendar - and can sync your calendar with Google, Thunderbird, or any hardware/software that uses SyncML. Here is a sample screen shot of someone in the process of granting 'testuser@somehost.com' read/write privileges to a calendar. Image:IcalPerm3.png

[edit] Finished

Once you click 'Grant Permission' the calendar is shared. Some folks may find it handy to examine the Synchronizing Specific Calendars section of the Advanced Configuration page to learn how to specifically sync individual shared calendars.

[edit] How Do I Stop Sharing?

After you share a calendar you'll note a trashcan appear in your 'shared calendars' window. Simply click the trashcan to stop sharing.
