[edit] Funambol ScheduleWorld Edition
This is the best client to use for your BlackBerry. It fixes many of the bugs found in the Funambol Community Edition. It can be found here: http://funambol-sw.krkeegan.com/

If the above client doesn't work for you for any reason feel free to try the original client from Funambol:funambol-blackberry-plugin-3.0.8.zip. However this client is known to have a few issues.
[edit] Configuration Settings
For both the ScheduleWorld and Community Edition of the Funambol client you should use the General Funambol Configuration settings. Note that currently the Funambol clients for the BlackBerry only sync Contacts and Calendar.
[edit] General Funambol Configuration
Funambol clients come configured correctly except for the URL, username and password.
- URL - http://sync.scheduleworld.com/funambol/ds
- username - This is your ScheduleWorld account ID (number). You must not use your email address. Your ScheduleWorld account ID was emailed to you when you signed up, and can also be found on your preferences page (General Preferences for <account ID>). You need to log in to see this page.
- password - the same password you use to login to the ScheduleWorld web site.
The following settings are the default settings:
- contacts URI - scard
- calendar event URI - scal
- calendar todo/task URI - stask
- notes - snote
- encryption - no
- v-card - no
- i-cal no
Please do not set the scheduler to sync more often than once every 30 minutes. This helps keep the load on the server down.

It's been reported that the log can be viewed by holding ALT and typing LGLG from the home screen.
[edit] Known Issues
[edit] Synchronization Successful but Nothing Syncs
This has been seen on T-Mobile. It is suspected that T-Mobile has an error in a proxy server that runs on port 80. The solution is to use the following address as the sync url:
URL - http://sync.ScheduleWorld.com:8080/funambol/ds

It may be a problem with your APN settings. Third party applications generally require this to be configured to work properly. You can find the setting by going to Settings->Options>Advanced Options->TCP.
For Cingular:
APN: wap.cingular
username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
password: CINGULAR1
For T-Mobile:
Gateway APN: wap.voicestream.com
Gateway IP: 216.155.165.50
Gateway Port: 9201
If only the APN is provided you will get an error asking for the IP.
Also, make sure the APN associated settings are blank in the application settings for your SyncML client. I believe there is a place for this in both the Funambol and SyncJE clients.
I should also note that the applications previously mentioned (web browsing with the built in client, Google talk, etc.) do not require the APN settings in order to work properly which is probably why you do not have an issue with them.
[edit] There seems to be a problem with certain types of recurring events:
- monthly events specifically set to occur on the 1st <day> of the month, or the last <day> of the month
- yearly events set to occur on the <nth> <day of week> of <month>.
This is being investigated by Funambol.
[edit] Error Prevents Calendar From Syncing
Previously in 3.0.7 of the Funambol client certain calendar events would not sync correctly and would cause an error preventing any Calendar Syncing. There error reported was:
Synchronization failed. com.funambol.syncclient.spds.SyncException</math>

A work around has been deployed in 3.0.8. So far this error has not been seen in the 3.0.8 versions of the ScheduleWorld or Community Editions. A detailed discussion of the workaround is available here.
[edit] "proxy error page"
Someone posted about Orange France having a broken proxy. The solution was: Disable the proxy on BlackBerry :
Choose Options -> Security Options -> TLS -> TLS Default Choose Handheld and not the Proxy setting.
