[edit] Blackberry Setup to Sync with Ubuntu Automatically
Prerequisites
Syncevolution installed on your Ubuntu machine and a cron job running to periodically update your ScheduleWorld account. I set my cron job to sync every 15 minutes.
Procedure
Now that you have the syncevolution up and running on your computer, you need to install the Funambol client. To get the client point the default Blackberry browser to: http://my.funambol.com/bb/sync.jad. I believe the site will either detect your blackberry model or works on any blackberry. If you have trouble you can go to http://my.funambol.com and sign up for a 90 day demo account. When you set up your account Funambol will ask what kind of phone you have and what your phone number is. Then Funambol will SMS your phone a link to download the client. The Funambol link above worked on my Blackberry Curve 8900.
After the Funambol client is installed on your phone you can follow the instructions here to get the Funambol client to sync with your ScheduleWorld account.
Syncing for the First Time
If you are like me you had an address book, calendar, etc in Evolution and a separate one on the blackberry with many similarities between the two. If you just tell the Funambol client to sync as is, you will end up with many duplicates as it smashes your contacts, calendars, etc together. In the Funambol client on the Blackberry, or through the configuration file of syncevolution, you can configure which contacts, calendars, etc you want to start using on both devices by changing the sync settings from "Two Way" to "One Way." Alternatively you can run the Funambol client as is and have fun deleting many duplicates. After the first sync is completed it is a good idea to set the Funambol client to run automatically on your phone. Just like the cron job I set the interval to 15 minutes.
Once your first sync succeeds change your sync mode back to "Two Way".
